Return of the shepherd

After the resurrection, Peter doesn’t charge forward with boldness—he goes back to what he knows. He returns to fishing, carrying the weight of failure and the sting of his denial. But in John 21:1–19, Jesus appears once again—this time not to call Peter into something new, but to call him back.
This week’s message, The Return of the Shepherd, invites us to witness a moment of divine restoration. Jesus meets Peter at a charcoal fire, the same kind of fire near which Peter had denied Him. But instead of shame, Peter receives grace. Instead of disqualification, Peter receives a new mission: “Feed my sheep.”
This story is not just about Peter—it’s about all of us who have stumbled in our faith and wondered if we still belong. It reminds us that Jesus doesn’t leave us in our failure; He comes to find us, feed us, and send us again. As we continue the celebration of Easter, we reflect on the good news that resurrection always makes room for restoration.
